Easter with Uncle D
A belated Happy Easter! The festivities started Friday after Uncle D stepped off the plane and onto the playground. We took a little stroll to see the bluebonnets, played on the playground, chased Sergio, and ate pizza. Awesome weather and even more awesome company.:) Saturday was the museum outing where, again, Sergio refused to see the dinosaurs. He did have fun looking at the ducks though. Uncle D appreciated the experience. D and I got to run some errands and do a Hollister stop. We got home and whisked the kids to the annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt. Can you say sugar overload? It was a good preview for when the real bunny came. Sunday we took the kids to 8am mass. 8 AM!!!! AND, they did awesome! It was nice to go out to breakfast and THEN do the egg hunt. However, I need to have a talk with Mr. Easter Bunny. It seems he brings lots and lots of sugar everywhere he goes... We did a kite flying afternoon and grill out. We all actually sat down to watch Up too. Great day! Monday we spent on a hike. It was the first one in which the kids were on foot. Olivia was carried 75% of the way.....by me! She was so so so tired!! We treated the kids to a picnic...and nutella sandwiches! :) The last day the kids gave Uncle D a real treat. I was in Children's Place for a "quick trip" and in 30 minutes there were 2 trips to the bathroom and a boo-boo. Uncle D passed with flying colors! I came back and the kids were happy playing on the mall playground! :) We were sad to see him go and hope he comes back sooner than later.
